Are You Chasing Success or Destiny?

I shared my message entitled "Kingdom Business: Chasing Destiny God's Way" with the Lakewood Church Business Ministry recently.

While preparing the message God began to speak to me about the difference between chasing success versus chasing destiny.

Success says: "Look at me! Look at what I'm doing! Look at where I'm going."

Destiny says: "Look at God. Watch Him work! Look at where He's taking me for HIS glory!"

Success believes: "I'll do whatever it takes to get there as soon as possible."

Destiny says: "I'll stay in step with God's timing and use His strategies."

Friend, God wants you to be successful. But, in a world that is hungry for overnight fame and full of shortcuts to the "next level," it's imperative that you and I consistently check in with God to make sure our hearts are pure and aligned with Him in all of our pursuits. If we're not careful, we can easily start out pursuing a God dream that turns into a mad chase to build our own platform instead.

Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Is It Worth It?

If hindsight is 20-20, what in the world do you call it when you’re walking through life? What kind of vision do you have when you’re grasping for clarity or when you’re feeling completely blind? Some days I can’t tell if I am acting out of faith or just pure stupidity. It’s true that only time will tell, but I am willing to find out if one day it will all be worth it….if possibly, just possibly…I am right.
